This is just a tech demo at the moment, but it looks sweet, a wall mounted touchscreen multiplayer battle fleet game, this sort of thing might be what it takes to get game arcades back in business… because I can’t imagine people being able to afford a whole wall TV just yet.
A short and sweet preview of the next Halo game shown at E3 2011
Footage shows a massive player protest sparked by leaked internal emails discussing the creation of new micro transaction charges that would affect gameplay, players were incensed at the tone of the emails that described them as the “golden goose”. Hundreds of players converged on the central hubs of Jita and other primary locations in gamespace and blasted the permanent structure with their most powerful weaponry. Despite the stations being invulnerable to this kind of attack, the high traffic on the nodes forced server nodes to be shut down and basically slowed the game economy to a crawl.
Get rid of the red shapes, while preserving the green ones.
Another portal trailer, this time featuring Chel (?) in second person view, instead of the goofy robots we’ve seen previously. The boots are nothing new, but they seem to have been given a makeover.
After playing mirror’s edge, I always wish for more body awareness on the player’s character in FPS games, it looks like Crysis 2 has some of that, but portal probably will go with the usual “You are a featureless wall walking along”. We can hope the full body awareness will become standard in FPS games in the future.
Hawken is an upcoming indy FPS mecha combat game, and as this preview teaser shows, the gameplay and graphics look top notch! Let’s hope the game makes it to published status, as this would not be the first spectacular gameplay video that ends up going nowhere…
While it doesn’t give any clues about the gameplay, this trailer for Dead Island makes it look very good indeed!
New trailer for Batman: Arkham city, featuring Hugo Strange as the antagonist. No clues about the gameplay as this is just a cutscene, but it’s extremely nice and well made for all that.
A user has tweaked the physics in the GTA world to remove all friction from the car tires. The results are spectacularly hilarious.
